Position Overview:
loc8me is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Utilities Assistant to join our team. This role involves managing the roll-out of smart technology solutions, including Smart Thermostats and Smart Meters, across our properties. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for improving utility management. This is a key position in ensuring the utilities department is well-supported while promoting responsible utility usage.

Key duties and requirements include:

  • Smart Technology Rollout:
Oversee the installation and implementation of Smart Thermostats and Smart Meters across company-managed properties. Ensure timely and efficient rollout and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the process.
  • Tenant and Landlord Support:
Serve as a point of contact for tenants and landlords regarding utility-related inquiries. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and provide support for utility concerns.
  • Utility Billing & Expenditure Management:
Review and validate utility statements for accuracy, ensuring charges are correctly allocated to landlords. Monitor and audit utility expenditure across properties to identify any discrepancies or opportunities for cost savings.
  • Education & Awareness:
Educate tenants on responsible utility usage to promote energy efficiency. Provide guidance on how to manage energy consumption and reduce utility costs effectively.
  • Recordkeeping & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of utility rollouts, expenditures, and communications with tenants and landlords. Prepare regular reports on utility usage, trends, and savings opportunities.
  • Visiting properties to investigate energy usage.
  • Communicating with tenants on responsible energy usage.
  • Connecting Thermostats, Unifi’s etc…

Essential skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with tenants, landlords, and contractors.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and smart home technologies (e.g., Smart Thermostats and Smart Meters) is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot utility-related issues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to work.

Salary £12.82 per hour (equivalent of £25,000 per annum)
