This week is National Apprenticeship Week, where we celebrate the achievements of our fellow apprentices within loc8me. We asked both Zach and Izzy about their experience so far with loc8me:
Zach:
What is it like being an apprentice for loc8me?
Being an apprentice at loc8me is not just a job; it’s an adventure filled with learning. Every day brings new situations and challenges that keep me on my toes. Whether it’s assisting with property management or interacting with clients, there’s never a dull moment. The dynamic nature of the role ensures that I’m constantly learning and growing, which makes the experience both entertaining and fulfilling.
This year’s theme is ‘Skills for Life’. What skills have you learned with loc8me that will stay with you for life?
Working at loc8me has equipped me with invaluable skills. Firstly, I’ve gained confidence in my abilities, both professionally and personally. This confidence enables me to tackle challenges head-on and approach tasks with a positive attitude. Secondly, I’ve learnt to think critically and creatively to find effective solutions. Lastly, the emphasis on exceptional customer service has instilled in me the importance of empathy, communication, and adaptability, qualities that will serve me well in all aspects of life.
What’s your favourite part of working as an apprentice?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being an apprentice is the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of people. Whether it’s collaborating with colleagues, assisting clients, or networking with industry professionals, each interaction provides a unique learning experience. Moreover, the knowledge and insights gained from these interactions are invaluable assets that not only enhance my current role but also lay the foundation for future endeavours.
What piece of advice would you give to people wanting to do an apprenticeship?
My advice to anyone considering an apprenticeship is simple yet important: prioritise passion over a paycheck. Seek out opportunities that align with your interests, values, and long-term goals. A fulfilling apprenticeship goes beyond just earning a wage; it’s about gaining valuable experience, acquiring new skills, and laying the groundwork for a successful and fulfilling career.
Izzy:
What is it like being an apprentice for loc8me?
I love being an apprentice at loc8me. The environment in the office allows me to thrive and grow. I love the variety of my work day from day to day, I can go from shadowing viewings with the Lettings consultants to chasing contracts in the office. The positive vibes in the office make every day enjoyable and allow me to develop my skills and grow in both Lettings and assets.

My role within Loc8me has allowed me to develop many transferable skills which will aid me in my future endeavours. I have developed skills such as communication, people skills and being able to work as part of a team, which are all key skills for my future endeavours.
What’s your favourite part of working as an apprentice?
My favourite part of being an apprentice would be that I am able to see all sides of the business and learn from people with years of experience in this field.
What piece of advice would you give to people wanting to do an apprenticeship?
My biggest word of advice for people wanting to do an apprenticeship would be to take every opportunity you get and to see the potential for how it can benefit you in your own work and future fields.
