What do I do if I want to serve notice?

Step 1: Get Everyone on the Same Page

If your tenancy is jointly responsible, 

All tenants must agree on what happens next

This could be:

• Ending the tenancy completely, or
• Exploring a Change of Tenancy (if some tenants want to stay)

Step 2: Give the Right Notice

To end your tenancy, you must:

• Provide at least 2 months’ written notice
• Make sure your notice ends on, or the day before, your rent due date

Important to Know

• All tenants must be included in the notice to quit email, as this will end the tenancy for everybody on the agreement
• Incorrect notice may be rejected and delay your move out

Step 3: Submit Your Notice

Send your notice by email to your local branch and include:

• Full names of all tenants
• Ensure all tenants are copied into the email
• Property address
• Your intended move-out date

We will allow a one working day cooling off period and consider booking a house visit with your asset manager or branch manager to discuss the next steps.
