Role Purpose

The Rent Income Officer is responsible for the management of rent income performance across
allocated portfolios, with a primary focus on arrears management and recovery.
The role exists to:

● Protect rental income performance and reduce arrears exposure
● Deliver a professional and firm arrears management service to landlords and tenants
● Maintain accurate financial records and support payment and reconciliation processes
● Escalate risk and initiate legal processes where required, in line with loc8me controls

This role is delivery-focused, operating within policy, escalation thresholds, and governance set by the Client Accounts Manager and Financial Director.

Key duties and requirements include:

  • Managing and chasing rent arrears, which is a key part of this role.
  • Starting legal proceedings, working with Solicitors and completing Claims online on behalf of the landlord
  • Managing and responding to emails
  • Monthly payment runs to landlords & contractors
  • Bank account management and reconciliation
  • Deposit Reconciliation
  • Contract and let sheet auditing
  • Completing reports as and when required for landlords and management
  • Branch/landlord support, including regular meetings with the branch
  • Work closely with all departments across the business to resolve issues
  • Meet KPI’s set by the Client Accounts Manager
  • General accounts and administration support to the Client Accounts Manager & Financial Director

Essential skills:

  • Experience in Credit Control, taking a proactive role in managing and collecting rent arrears
  • Strong administration and organisational skills: being organised in a way that is easy for others to read and having a methodical and logical approach to all tasks.
  • Technical skills: Proficient in using various software systems, including Microsoft Packages, i.e. Excel, Word, Excel, Google Sheets and using a Mac
  • Communication skills: Confident in making calls and managing difficult situations.
  • Being able to communicate and collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders and having good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise workload, work to deadlines, and adapt
  • Attention to detail: being accurate and having a high level of accuracy.
  • Some travel included – visiting tenants in their property
  • Flexibility within a working role, as there will be some weekend work during busy periods, especially the summer period.

Details & Salary:

    • Hours of work: 9 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday, 1 hour lunch 
  • Salary Scale £29,000 – £32,000
  • Office based in Loughborough
